Emotions have an increasing role in politics. As the role of political parties and ideologies decreases, the role of leaders increases. Interest in political content declines but in the performative side of politics rises.  Objective facts lose their importance while beliefs and judgments rule. As we are bombarded with information and our attention span shrinks, it becomes increasingly difficult to process information that comes from logic.  This is replaced with fast and effortless information that comes from emotions. At Emotics Lab, we examine the role of emotions including fear, courage, anger and joy in political developments that affect our daily lives and our political choices, using various methods including surveys, focus group interviews, and experiments.
